About
Miltiadis Nimfopoulos is currently a Research Manager at IGME in the field of Environmental Geology and Geochemistry and has more than 20 years experience in Soil and Groundwater Research and pollution sources (e.g. arsenic and methylated base metal pollution of soils and groundwaters). He has also more than 15 years research experience in landfill research, restoration and monitoring and more than 5 years experience in oil-mill effluents and their environmental impact in Greece. He has graduated with a B.Sc.honours Degree from the School of Geology, Thessaloniki University Greece (1983). His 5-year Ph.D. research in the University of Manchester UK (School of Earth, Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences), involved the in-depth study of primary base metal mineralizations followed by environmental transportation of base metals during weathering.
A total of over 125 publications in International Journals, Conferences, and Research Reports in the field of Ore Geochemistry and Genesis, Environmental Geochemistry and Soil and Water pollution. More than 70 Citations in International Book Volumes, Journals and Ph.D. theses.
National Representative of Greece in Mineralogical Society, Abstractor of Mineralogical Abstracts, Reviewer of papers in Geological Society of Greece.
